Makes you think

An excellent book by Alexander Bless. Bless clearly put years of research into his work as he decides to take on the elephant in the room. He asks the questions on everyone's mind and from then on there is no way back. He does not apologize for his views but manages to keep his sense of humor even during the most serious chapters.
This book is for everyone who has ever wondered how people can take the Bible word-for-word. The author questions the authenticity of the writings in the Bible: could they possibly be the words of God? If yes, why don't they make sense? Why are there so many clearly dated paragraphs? How come such basic things as God's characteristics change from the Old Testament to the New Testament? Questions such as these made me go back to the Bible and check: "seriously, does it really say that?" and the answer is a frightening, resounding "yes, it does".
Be warned: this is not an easy book to read. It demands thinking. The reader is trusted to come up with his own answers. Read Bless' book, then read the Bible again and think.
