Sweet Peace

In a literary environment that has tragically become contentious -- among people who know better -- Phyliss Olive shares her insights with a sweet peace.
There is never a point where she seeks to discredit or contend with other ideas. The book tells is like it is; from a lifetime of study, contemplation and prayer.
Not pretending to be a scholar Phyliss leans heavily on her own instincts and inspiration as she presents the scholarly works of experts, the geographical facts of the Batavia, NY area and most importantly statements from trusted spirtual sources.
Anyone, LDS or not, who attends the next Hill Cummorah Pagent in Palmyra, NY will examine the hills and valleys they drive through, the lakes and rivers, and will seek to listen to the voice that comes from the very dust around them in a new light.
From the vineyards near the Keepers of The Westward Door to the rich soil of The Keepers of The Hills this "land" -- a land the native elders requested to have when the diplomatic British asked, "What Land do you wish to keep." -- "The land that God gave us.". A land with a South that was up (higher elevation) and a northward flowing river.
Twenty percent of her book sets the stage in NY and eighty percent explains why the world has been searching elsewhere. And gives readers a clue as to who and what has been found outside of Nephite Lands in The River Valleys of North America and The Jungles of South America.
Just because we've discovered the impressive Pyramids of Egypt doesn't mean we must set Bible Lands there. We know from the clues of sacred text that The Hebrews lived in Jerusalem, although little if anything remains that compares to Egypt's mighty Pyramids. Phyliss Olive validates the amazing archeological discoveries made elsewhere and puts them into the context of a very cosmopolitan New World with other nations who had intercourse with The Covenant People of the Nephites. Which is why we find many things "Nephite in Origin" as far south as Chile when these civilizations rose 500 years after The Nephites faded.
Although Philyss will never stand on top of the Hill Cummorah herself in this life. She stands in the company of Spencer W. Kimball, Marion G. Romney and James E. Talmage. These three spoke the same words from the pulpit in General Conference sessions in Salt Lake City that Phyliss Olive speaks from her writing desk: That two ancient inhabits of this land met their end on this hill in New York State. If they died here they lived here, "We Are Israel" explains where they lived and how it could have fit into the geographic and prophetic clues of The Book of Mormon.
No doubt books with a greater scholarly tone must and will be written on the subject of New Yorks limited geographical theory. And that's what Phyliss would want. Until then, her's is the sweet voice of these people; "These westward tribes of Indians." as Joseph SmIth once said.
